On Saturday January 30th members of our organising committee visited Caldicot castle. It was an opportunity for liaison and to see how practical some of our plans for this summers event are. I am also pleased to say that it was not as dramatic as the scene from last years festival pictured above.
This has resulted in significant progress. We’ve been able to work out a plan to divide the castle and grounds into distinct areas of activity. These include (but are not limited to), a living history for both pirates and militia members, arena areas and a children’s play area. We also have a large number of traders coming to create a vibrant “market” area. All in all this promises to be a lot fun.
Looking at the site has also allowed us to plan out camping areas – and we’ll be publishing maps for these in the future.
